Debbie Travis, “The Reigning Queen of Renovations,” as Regis Philbin calls her, has continued to bring fun and passion into our homes and made decorating a lifestyle for everyone. She has appeared as a guest on many of the most popular talk shows throughout North America including: The Oprah Show, The Today Show, Regis and Kelly, Entertainment Tonight Canada, and many more.

Her innate talent for design coupled with her dry British wit has made Debbie Travis a beloved icon on the home decorating front throughout North America and around the world. Debbie is an international television personality, bestselling author, syndicated newspaper columnist and Home Collection designer.

Born in England, Debbie transformed her experience in Art College and as a fashion model into a television career, working as a producer for several British networks. After moving to Montreal, she started a productive painting and design business becoming a leader in the paint and faux finishing trend in North America. In 1995, she merged her two passions, design and television production, by creating one of North America’s first decorating shows. Debbie Travis’ The Painted House amassed devoted viewers in over 80 countries.

Following the success of 13 seasons of The Painted House, Debbie Travis’ Facelift was launched and immediately became a worldwide hit as the first reality design show, combining a mix of reality TV, drop-dead design, and soap opera drama.

Her primetime network show, From the Ground Up with Debbie Travis, is all about raw talent. Debbie looks for a Chief Designer for her newest venture, Debbie Travis Designed Condominiums and Homes. In 2008, Debbie unveiled DT Homes partnered with developer, Tribute Communities.

In addition to her television ventures, Debbie is also an award-winning author with eight best-selling books on painting and decorating. Her series of books include: The Painted House, Decorating Solutions, Weekend Projects, Living and Dining Rooms, Kids’ Rooms, Bedrooms, Kitchens and Baths, and Facelift, all published by Random House / Clarkson Potter. Her hugely hilarious new autobiographical book on parenting titled, Not Guilty, was launched in 2009. Debbie also has an internationally-syndicated, weekly newspaper column, House-to-Home, distributed by King Features / Hearst (US) and Torstar (Canada). The columns appear in 70 newspapers from the Atlanta Constitution, the Chicago Sun Times, and the Toronto Star.

Debbie’s unique background makes her a sought after inspirational speaker for various women’s conventions, design shows, and business organizations. Her commitment to the community has allowed her to work with charities such as Children With Arthritis and The CURE Foundation.
